Our focus is to help teachers facilitate problem-based learning. We accomplish this through teaching the Design Thinking Process .
Design Thinking is an empathy based approach to problem-solving that prioritizes placing a customer at the center of the problem solving process. Through understanding a user’s needs, wants, and patterns, we can better define a problem, unlock creativity through an ideation process, and rapidly create prototype solutions and test them for feedback and improvement.
Design Thinking shifts the paradigm of learning from results-oriented to process-oriented. It encourages tinkering, self-discovery, and failing forward. We work with educators to create learning frameworks for students that empower them to take control of their learning, develop critical thinking and analytical skills, use technology in a hands-on approach, and build a sense of curiosity that makes learning fun and rewarding.
What we do

Walk you step by step through the Design Thinking Process and how to implement it.
Train you in various technologies for rapid prototyping including 3D modeling, coding, and electronics.
Design lesson plans ready-made for your students and your classroom, as well as provide continued support and instructional resources. We also help support designing makerlab spaces.
We are currently working with the Upward Bound Program at University of Hawaii Maui College to train their facilitators on the design thinking process.

Meet Wayne County Library. This is their story in action. This could be you.
For the past two summers we have worked with the Wayne County Public Library in Goldsboro, NC. Middle school students, having learned robotics, 3d design, and coding have used the design thinking process to create prototype solutions for local challenges in their community.

Innovation Lab
We can host a training at our coworking space innovation lab (coming soon) or come to you to lead the workshop. Our workshops normally last 2-4 days.
Transform Learning
We will introduce you to multiple technologies that you can take back to the classroom including coding apps, game design, electronics, and 3d design.
Train Your Staff
We will walk your staff through a real-world project in which they will create a prototype using the design thinking process.
